The BMC on Monday reiterated that as per section 3 (1) of the Maharashtra Fire Prevention & Life Safety Measures Act, 2006, it is mandatory for every owner or occupier of a building to provide fire prevention and life safety measures in it or in a part of it.“(It is a must) to furnish a certificate, ie Form B, issued by a licensed agency, twice a year — January and July – (mentioning that these facilities are maintained and in an) efficient condition,” the BMC said in a statement.Non-submission of Form B within the stipulated time period can led to action, it said
